Would You Give Your Last Dollar Away?
I think most people believe they would.Â
But when we get right down to it. We would make sure we had enough first before giving something away. Right.
I mean it probably is our early reptilian brain at work. Making sure of our survival. It is only natural.
But remember this is just a dream. How do you want your dream to look like?
If we truly believe that God, Source, The Universe will take care of us. Then we should have no attachments to anything.
Whatever is mine is yours.Â
I know easier said then done.
I recall reading in HOW TO KNOW GOD by Deepak Chopra about a saint who epitomized grace. A Polish mystic, Father Maximilian Kolbe who died under the Nazis at Auschwitz.
You see he gave away most of his meager rations to the other prisoners. He refused a contraband cup of tea because the other inmates had nothing.
Was he looked after. Well to a certain point. He volunteered to take one of the prisoners places. They were locked in an underground vault to die of starvation. When the vault was opened several days later everyone had perished but he. He then was killed by lethal injection.
“When asked how he could endure with such gentleness the treatment he was receiving at the hands of the Nazis, he said only that evil must be met with LOVE.”
Is grace superhuman? Perhaps.Â
But grace can offer constant support in everyday life. Knowing you are looked after no matter the conditions can be of great service to yourself.
Could I do what Father Maximilian Kolbe did in Auschwitz . Who knows? I definitely know I wouldn’t want to be put in that position.
So where am I going with?
Well something remarkable happened today.
Something that brought tears to my eyes.
An act so unselfish. So courageous. And I am sure one that happens but goes unnoticed everyday throughout the world.
You see our latest winner Donna from the USA also epitomizes grace. Here I will let her explain:
I just wanted you to know how grateful I was to have received an email from you informing me that I had won $70.00. I lost my job some time ago because of the economy and things have been pretty tight. BUT, because of your inspirational work and message, I realized that there is a family that lives a few doors from me with many small children that need that $70.00 more then I do. I promptly took the money to them and they were so thankful. Thank you again and may God Bless you every day! Donna
Donna may God bless you. And may your generosity be returned to you 100 fold.
I love how this website is producing so many wonderful stories.Â
The ripples are getting bigger. People are taking notice. And you should all be congratulated for remembering that we are all one.
